Context
The circumstances surrounding an event or concept, influencing its interpretation.
Task
What the group is doing; the issue facing them.
Process
The means of addressing a Task and finding ways to make headway.
Production
The act of creating goods or services.
Zero defects
A principle where every product off the production line is defect-free.
Quality assurance
A way of preventing errors or defects in manufactured products.
Right first time
A principle that emphasizes producing quality outputs without the need for rework.
Facilitation
Guiding a group discussion or process to foster collaboration and effectiveness.
Red thinking
Refers to focusing on the Task aspects of a meeting.
Green thinking
Refers to focusing on the Process aspects of a meeting.
SPO
Summarise, Proposal, Outcome/Output - a tool to link Task and Process.
Degrees of Uncertainty
The classification of objectives based on their clarity and the nature of the problem.
Certainty
When an objective is clear and the answer is easily obtained.
Complexity
When the objective is relatively clear, but the solution requires development.
Uncertainty
When the nature of the objective is unclear and needs to be defined.
Levels of Process Awareness
Stages of understanding and utilizing Process within a group.
Dysfunctional group
A group that gives little respect to Process and relies on rigid methods.
Transitional group
A group that starts recognizing the value of Process and introduces more flexibility.
Process Aware groups
Groups that integrate Process into every meeting item and embrace uncertainty.
Feedback Model
A model used to ensure understanding between participants by providing feedback on what was said.
Reverse Feedback
A technique where the listener feeds back what they heard to ensure understanding.
