Scutiform cartilage
A plate-like cartilage located medially to the ear that serves as an attachment site for muscles such as the frontalis and scutuloauricularis.
Frontalis
A muscle of the dorsal head associated with the aponeurosis and the scutiform cartilage.
Orbicularis oculi
The sphincter muscle surrounding the palpebral fissure responsible for closing the eyelids.
Levator nasolabialis
A muscle of the head that extends to the lateral aspect of the nose and the upper lip.
Zygomaticus
A muscle of the face extending from the zygomatic arch to the angle of the mouth.
Parotidoauricularis
A superficial muscle of the neck and head region associated with the parotid gland and the ear.
Sphincter colli profundus
A deep muscle of the neck divided into various parts, including the pars palpebralis and pars intermedia.
Masseter
A powerful muscle of mastication categorized into superficial, middle, and deep portions.
Mylohyoideus
An extrinsic muscle of the tongue and hyoid apparatus forming the floor of the oral cavity.
Sternocephalicus
A neck muscle composed of the pars occipitalis and pars mastoideus.
Serratus ventralis
A large fan-shaped muscle with cervicis and thoracis portions that supports the trunk.
Semispinalis capitis
A deep muscle of the neck consisting of two distinct parts: the Biventer and the Complexus.
Ligamentum nuchae
A strong elastic ligament in the neck that provides support for the head.
Caval foramen
The opening in the diaphragm that allows the passage of the caudal vena cava.
Esophageal hiatus
The opening in the diaphragm through which the esophagus passes.
Aortic hiatus
The most dorsal opening in the diaphragm for the passage of the aorta.
Linea alba
The median fibrous raphe on the ventral abdominal wall where the aponeuroses of the abdominal muscles meet.
Inguinal ligament
A connective tissue structure in the groin area associated with the pelvic tendon and the inguinal canal.
Prepubic tendon
The strong tendon of the abdominal muscles located near the pectineus and gracilis muscles on the pubis.
Intercostalis externus
Superficial muscles of the thoracic cage located between the ribs, primarily involved in inspiration.
Intercostalis internus
Muscles of the thoracic cage located deep to the external intercostals, primarily involved in expiration.
Transversus thoracis
A muscle visible on the internal thoracic surface of the ribs.
