Skewed
Influenced by extreme values.
Uniform Distribution
When all outcomes are equally likely; very rare in nature
Pips
Little dots on dice.
Mode
The most frequent outcome in an experiment.
Arithmetic Mean
Average computed by summing all data points and dividing by the number of observations.
Median
The middle value in a data set when the data is arranged in ascending order.
Mean (sensitivity)
Sensitive to extreme values; gets swayed by outliers.
Median (resistance)
Stubborn and wants to stay in the middle, unaffected by extreme values.
Symmetric, bell-shaped data
Use the mean
Skewed Data
Use the median
Mode
The highest repetition; best used for qualitative data.
