Primary Sector

The sector of the economy that extracts raw materials from the natural environment. Examples include agriculture, mining, fishing, and forestry.

Secondary Sector

The sector of the economy that processes and transforms raw materials into finished goods. Examples include manufacturing, construction, and power generation.

Tertiary Sector

The sector of the economy that provides services rather than producing goods. Examples include retail, healthcare, education, transport, and finance.

Quaternary Sector

The sector of the economy that involves intellectual and knowledge-based activities, such as information technology, research and development, media, and consulting.
