Theism

The belief in the existence of God or gods, particularly in a creator who can intervene in human affairs.

Agnosticism

A position of uncertainty towards the existence of God, asserting that the truth about divine matters is unknown or unknowable.

Problem of evil

The philosophical question regarding how to reconcile the existence of evil and suffering in the world with the belief in a good and all-powerful deity.

Moral judgment

An assessment of a situation or action based on ethics and values, determining what is right or wrong.

Descriptive belief

A statement or belief that aims to describe the way things are without any moral or evaluative component.

Universalism

The theological doctrine that all humans will eventually be saved or reconciled with God, regardless of their faith or actions in life.

Skeptical theism

A viewpoint which suggests that human beings cannot grasp God's reasons for allowing evil, thus suspending judgment about God's goodness based on the presence of evil.

Moral patients

Sentient beings considered to have moral relevance, deserving consideration due to their capacity to suffer.

Existential concern

A focus on the meaning, purpose, and implications of existence, particularly relating to human experience and suffering.

Cosmic significance

The idea that individual suffering or events have a profound and ultimate meaning or importance in the grand scheme of existence.
