If you see a line trending upwards from left to right is the slope positive or negative?
Positive
If you see a line trending downwards from left to right is the slope positive or negative?
Negative
y = mx + b is what?
Slope Intercept Form
Ay + Bx = C is what?
Standard Form
What is F(x) = mx + b?
Function Notation
How do you find slope if you only have two points on a graph?
The slope can be calculated by using rise over run (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

How do you find the y-intercept if all you have is the slope?
Take a y and x from a point of a graph and insert it into the y = mx + b equation and solve for B
What is a coefficient?
The number placed in front of a variable
What is a constant?
A fixed unchanging number
What is b in the slope intercept form?
The y-intercept
What does a Linear Equation with no solutions look like?
Any instances where the variables cancel themselves out and leave just the constants equaling each other (e.g., a = b). This can never be true.
What does a Linear Equation with unlimited solutions look like?
Any instance where the variables equal themselves, because this will allow for anything that’s put into the variable to be true. (e.g., x = x )
What does a Linear Equation with one solution look like?
Any instance where a variable = a single constant (e.g., x = a).
When dividing or multiplying a variable by a negative coefficient in an inequality equation, what happens to the inequality sign?
You must flip the inequality sign around
When dividing or multiplying a variable by a positive coefficient in an inequality equation, what happens to the inequality sign?
You keep the inequality sign as is
When working with fractions in a Linear Equation what is helpful when solving?
Leaving the fraction until the last step in isolating
When solving Linear Equations with multiple fractions what may you have to do in order to solve
Multiply by the smallest common denominator
