Convection
Process by which heat is transferred by movement of a heated fluid (liquid or gas).
Convection Cell
Hot, less dense fluid rises up, and a cold, more dense fluid sinks, forming a convection cell.
The Great Conveyor Belt
A complex system of ocean currents powered by convection that influences climate all over the planet.
Heated molecules
Heated molecules move around so much that they sometimes jump right out of their container, becoming less dense, or lighter.
Chilled molecules
Chilled molecules move less and don't take up as much space, becoming more dense or heavier.
