Fundamental identity of a people
A status expressed by a constitution, through which the people come into being as a collective entity by agreeing to a basic set of norms.
Collective entity
A group status that exists only through the basic constitution when individuals agree on how and who should be governed.
Basic set of norms
Rules regarding how one should be governed and who should be governed, which serve to form a collective identity.
