Terestrial animals
Animals that live on land are called derestrial animale.
Hibernation
A long winter sleep which helps animals in cold regions to survive the harsh winters.
Aestivation
A long summer sleep some animals go into to prevent loss of water from their body.
Aquatic animals
Animals living in water such as fish, shark, and whale.
Gills
The organ fish have to breathe in water.
Flippers
Special limbs turtles have to swim in water.
Merial Animals
Animals that spend most of their life in air, having bodies covered with feathers and hollow bones.
Amphibians
Animals that live both on land and in water, respiring through lungs on land and through their skin in water.
Arboreal Animals
Creatures who spend the majority of their live on trees, using strong limbs and sometimes tails to hold on.
Herbivorous animals
Animals that eat plants, having sharp front teeth to cut grass and strong grinding teeth at the back.
Carnivorous animals
Animals that eat the flesh of other animals, characterized by long sharp teeth, claws, and beaks.
Omnivorous animals
Animals that eat both plants and the flesh of other animals.
Crown
The top part of a tooth, which is one of the three main parts of a tooth.
Neck
The middle part of a tooth located between the crown and the root.
Root
The bottom part of a tooth that anchors it in the mouth.
