Check pulse and cap ref
Measure from Palmar crease to 2 finger widths distal to elbow
Cut desired length of splint → Diagonal across palmar crease
Round out edges & trim padding
Activate with water and fit to patient
Secure with bandage (2x around palm and down to elbow)
Mold to patient
Check cap refill

Check pulse and cap refill
Measure from injured thumb to one hand width distal to elbow
Cut desired length of splint, round edges
Activate with water
Place one side at tip of thumb, spiraling rest of splint over dorsal hand/arm
Anchor wrist (starting from dorsal thumb side x2)
Spica x1 back, through web space, to back
Wrap overlap 50% down arm
Mold to patient hand/arm
Check cap refill

Check pulse and cap refill
measure from tip of middle finger to two finger widths from elbow
Cut splint to length and round edges of all
Make mark at thumb proximally
Mark from middle of cast down to palmar crease, then diagnal across crease towards pinky
Cut leaving thumb portion, Round Edges
Activate splint
line up splint with palmar crease
Wrap thumb portion around thumb
Anchor splint at wrist, around thumb x2, web space x2
Wrap down arm by 50%
Mold to patient
Check cap refill
Sugar Tong Splint (indications)
Control rotation in the wrist and at the elbow

Patient is Supine
90 degree Flexion and Abduction
Measure from palmar crease, down length of arm, around elbow and back up (Letter U)
Activate with water
Fit to arm
Anchor at wrist, down to elbow, back up arm, through web space
Check cap refill
Boxer Splint (indications)
4th metacarpal fracture
5th metacarpal fracture

Check pulse and cap refill
Measure from tip of 4th finger to one hand width away from elbow
Take splint out of padding, fold top half and mark line following patients fingertip angle (towards pinky)
Round edges & trim padding
Activate with water
Place V splint end around 4th-5th fingers & fold round arm
Anchor at fingers x2
Wrap around wrist, fingers at 45 deg angle, through web space x2
Wrap down arm
Mold to hand
Check cap refill
Posterior Splint Leg (indications)
Severe ankle sprain/strain
Metatarsal fractures
Hairline Fractures
Non-displaced ankle fracture
Distal tibia / fibula fracture

Measure from the tip of big to → ankle → 2 finger widths below popliteal sciatic
Cut desired length of splint
Round edges
Mark point at base of the heel
Follow 10 cm above and below mark, draw horizontal line both ends
Mark 4 edges halfway diagonal (towards center point, draw vertical line from one line to another on same half
Cut 4 lines and fold butterfly
Activate with water
Apply splint, reinforced (butterfly) side away from patient
Apply 1st wrap at ankle → heel → toes
2nd bandage wrap up and down leg
Trim splint to shape of toes
3rd bandage ankle → foot ( go around ankle and cover lip of splint)
Fasten
