Lateral thoracic positioning
Lat. recumbency, standardly right side, front legs extended cranially, back legs restrained appropiately, sponge may be used for true lateral
VD thoracic positioning
Dorsal recumbency, sternum directly over spine, positioning device ideal, front legs extended cranially with nose between legs/elbows, back legs restrained appropiately
Centering
Vertical section of cross hatch should be centered just caudal to caudal section of scapula
Collimation
Front edge of collimator light is over the cranial border of scapula with back edge on or just cranial to the last rib
