Insertion: Superior- Posterior surface of lateral 1/3 of clavicle and acromion
Middle- Acromion and spine of scapula
Inferior- Medial 1/3 spine of scapula
Action: retraction and upward rotation of scapula
Upper fibers: elevate scapula
Lower fibers: upwardly rotate and depress scapula
Innervation: Spinal Accessory Nerve (CN XI)
Levator Scapulae
Origin: Transverse process of C1-4
Insertion: Superior angle of scapula
Action: Elevation and downward rotation of scapula
