Data Cycle
A process that transforms raw data into useful information.
Statistical Question
A question for which you do not expect to get a single answer, but instead expect a variety of answers.
Data
Information such as numbers and facts used to describe something or make decisions.
Categorical Data
A collection of information grouped into categories.
Numerical Data
Values or observations that can be measured (also referred to as quantitative data).
Collecting Data
The process of gathering data yourself.
Acquiring Data
The process of using prior data that was already collected by someone else.
Population
The entire set of items or individuals from which data is drawn for a statistical study.
Sample
A part of the population that can be used to make an inference or prediction about a population.
Histogram
A special kind of bar graph that uses bars to represent the frequency of numerical data that have been organized in intervals.
