Power
has two elements: the base and the exponent.
Base
of a power is the factor multiplied by itself repeatedly.
Exponent
of the power is the number of times you use the base as a factor.
Common factor
A number that is a factor of two or more numbers
Greatest common factor (GCF)

Positive rational number
is a number you can write in the form _ a b, where a and b are both whole numbers greater than zero.
Reciprocal (multiplicative inverse)
is one of a pair of numbers whose product is 1. The multiplicative inverse of the number _ a b is the number _ b a, where a and b are nonzero numbers.
