Network
Two or more computers connected with each other for communication.
Networking
The process which is used to form a network.
Client Server Network
A type of network where there is one specific server; clients cannot communicate directly with each other.
Peer to Peer Network
A type of network where all computers have equal importance and can directly communicate with each other.
LAN (Local Area Network)
The smallest network, typically covering an area of up to 1 kilometer.
MAN (Metropolitan Area Network)
A network that covers a city, typically within a range of 200 kilometers.
WAN (Wide Area Network)
A network that covers a wide geographical area, including multiple locations.
CAN (Campus Area Network)
A network that connects multiple buildings within a limited geographical area.
SAN (Storage Area Network)
A high-speed network that provides access to data storage.
PAN (Personal Area Network)
A small network used to connect personal devices.
HAN (Home Area Network)
A network within a home environment that connects devices like printers.
Internet
A global network application that allows communication across wide areas.
TCP (Transmission Control Protocol)
A protocol used to provide a connection in a network.
IP (Internet Protocol)
A connectionless protocol used for transmitting data over a network.
ISP (Internet Service Provider)
A service that provides access to the internet.
URL (Uniform Resource Locator)
The address of a resource on the internet, also known as a web address.
Connectionless Protocol
A method of data transfer where data is sent without checking the connection and without guaranteed delivery.
Connection Oriented Protocol
A method that first establishes a connection between two computers before sending data safely.
