What are the three main SDLC Methodologies?
Structured Development, Iterative Development, and Agile Development
What is the main characteristic of Predictive SDLC?
Requirements & needs are well understood and well defined with low technical risk.
What is the main characteristic of Adaptive SDLC?
Requirements and needs are uncertain with high technical risk.
What is Predictive SDLC also known as?
Structured Development
What is the main goal of Structured Development?
To minimize or eliminate accepting changes to the system requirements during the SDLC.
What is Iterative Development?
The information system is grown piece by piece through multiple iterations to refine and add more to the system until completing it.
What is Agile Development?
An iterative and incremental development approach where customers must be continually involved with the project team and embrace change.
Give some examples of Agile Development methodologies.
SCRUM, UP (Unified Process), XP (Extreme Programming)
What is Hybrid SDLC?
A combination of adaptive and predictive approaches.
What is Project Management?
Organizing and directing other people to achieve a planned result within a predetermined schedule and budget.
What are Internal Responsibilities of the Project Manager?
Developing the project schedule, recruiting and training team members, assigning work, assessing project risks, and monitoring project deliverables and milestones.
What are External Responsibilities of the Project Manager?
Reporting the project's status and progress, working directly with the client/stakeholders, and identifying resource needs and obtaining resources.
Define Internal Project Stakeholders
Individuals within the organization who interact with the system or have a significant interest in its operation or success.
Define External Project Stakeholders
Individuals outside the organization's control and influence who interact with the system or have a significant interest in its operation or success.
What are the Project Performance Domains according to the PMBOK 7th Edition?
Stakeholders, Team, Development Approach and Life Cycle, Planning, Project Work, Delivery, Measurement, and Uncertainty.
What are the Project Management activities in the SDLC?
Project initialization and planning, primarily happening in the first two core processes.
What are the three project responses?
Respond to an opportunity, Resolve a problem, Respond to an external directive
What does the System Vision Document include?
Problem Description, System Capabilities, and Business Benefits
What are the Quantitative Project Approval Factors?
Estimated time for project completion, estimated cost for the project and system, and the anticipated benefits from the deployment of the new system.
Define Tangible Benefits
A benefit that can be measured or estimated in terms of dollars.
Define Intangible Benefits
A benefit that accrues to an organization but can't be measured quantitatively or estimated accurately.
List some examples of intangible benefits.
Increased levels of service, increased customer satisfaction, survival, and need to develop in-house expertise.
List some examples of intangible costs.
Reduced employee morale, lost productivity, and lost customers or sales.
What is PESTEL analysis?
A framework to analyze the key factors influencing an organization from the outside.
List the steps to Plan and Monitor Project
Establish project environment, schedule the work, staff and allocate resources, evaluate work processes, monitor progress and make corrections
What must the Project Manager establish in order to produce a project environment?
Communicating internally and externally, Work environment, Processes and procedures
Name the 3 steps in developing a Detailed Work Schedule
Creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Estimate effort and identify dependencies, Create a schedule using a Gantt chart
Name the 5 tasks in Staffing Activity
Developing a resource plan for the project, Identifying and requesting specific technical staff, Identifying and requesting specific user staff, Organizing the project team into work groups, Conducting preliminary training and team- building exercises.
Name three steps in the Retrospective work process evaluation
How can the communication procedures be improved?, how can the working relationships with the user more effective?, What were the bottlenecks or problem areas? How can we eliminate them?
