Uneven development

The increasing gap in economic conditions between regions in the core.

Relocation diffusion

Spread of an idea through physical movement of people from one place to another or when migrants go to a new land with an idea.

Emphasizing the different ways that people form ideas about a place (stereotypes)

Expansion diffusion

An idea developing in a source area that stays strong with the source spreading outward.

Hierarchical expansion diffusion

Spread of an idea revolving around the authority of a person (under armor)

Contagious expansion diffusion

Rapid diffusion of a characteristic throughout a population (Influenza, AIDS)

Stimulus expansion diffusion

Spread of an underlying principle even though a characteristic fails to diffuse. (iPhone, hamburger in India even without the meat.)

Human ability to use the earths resources to meet current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own

Distribution of a feature within a region and how its related to the distribution of another feature.

Landscapes produce global landscapes of material goods. (McDonald’s adapting menu to other places.)

Point or place of origin for a new culture, idea or technology from which it spreads to other area through diffusion

International date line

Imaginary line extending from the north to south pole that is the boundary from one day to the next.
