Full Blood Count (FBC)
A blood test that measures various components of the blood including white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and more.
Mean Cell Volume (MCV)
The average volume of a red blood cell, measured in femtoliters (fL).
Haematocrit (Hct)
The ratio of the volume of red blood cells to the total volume of blood, expressed as a percentage.
Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW)
A measure of the variation in the size of red blood cells.
Neutrophils
A type of white blood cell that is part of the immune system, playing a crucial role in fighting infections.
Eosinophils
A type of white blood cell involved in allergic reactions and fighting parasitic infections.
Mean Cell Hemoglobin (MCH)
The average amount of hemoglobin per red blood cell, expressed in picograms.
Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC)
The average concentration of hemoglobin in a given volume of red blood cells.
Aperture Impedance Counting
A method of cell counting that measures changes in electrical impedance as cells pass through an aperture.
Optical Counting
A method of cell counting that uses light scattering to determine cell counts and characteristics.
