The study of the functions and processes of the body.
Nucleus
The organelle that houses the cell's genetic material and controls its activities.
Ribosomes
Molecular machines in the cell that synthesize proteins.
Organelles
Specialized structures within cells that perform specific functions.
Centrioles
Cylindrical organelles involved in cell division.
Tissues
Groups of similar cells that work together to perform a specific function.
Muscle tissues
Tissues responsible for the movement of the body, categorized into three types: skeletal, cardiac, and smooth.
Dense regular connective tissue
A type of connective tissue with tightly packed collagen fibers, providing strength in one direction.
Cartilage
A flexible connective tissue found in joints, ears, and nose.
Epidermis
The outermost layer of skin composed of several layers of cells.
Sebaceous glands
Glands in the skin that secrete oil to lubricate the skin and hair.
Sudoriferous glands
Glands that produce sweat for thermoregulation.
Pigments
Substances that give color to skin, such as melanin.

The part of the skeleton that consists of the skull, vertebral column, and thoracic cage.
Vertebral column
A column of vertebrae that protects the spinal cord.
