Frontal bone

External auditory meatus
feature of the temporal bone which provides opening to middle and inner ear

Mastoid process
round projection on the temporal bone behind the ear. allows attachment of mastoid muscle

Styloid process
Pen-like process extending downward from the temporal bone on each side of the skull. Allows the attachment of muscles of the neck and tongue

Foramen magnum
A large opening at the base of the occipital bone which allows passage of the spinal cord to the vertebral cavity.

Ethmoid
bone that forms the nasal cavity and superior portion of the septum

Ramus of mandible
Portion of the mandible which allows attachment of the mastoid muscle

zygomatic arch
Process extending from the temporal bone which fuses with the zygomatic bone to create the facial structure known as the cheek.

occipital condyles
Rounded projections lateral to the foramen magnum that articulate with the first cervical vertebra (atlas)
