It is limited however Edward may have hoped to try and involve the Comyns to ensure peace.

Why was Bruce not happy?
He had submitted to Edward in 1302, two years before the Comyns and the rest of the political community. he had fought for Edward after 1302. His two sheriffdoms in Ayr and Lanark, had gone to friends of the Comyns. Robert Bruce had fallen out of Edwards favour.
