Setting
When and where the story takes place.
Character
A person (or animal) in the story, real or imaginary.
Main character
The character that is followed the most in the story.
Author
The person who writes the story.
Narrator
The storyteller, which could be one of the characters or an outside voice.
Plot
The storyline or sequence of major events, consisting of exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
Conflict
The problem in the story that is resolved at the end.
Moral / Lesson
What can be learned from the story.
Theme
The main idea(s) that comes up in the book.
afford
To have enough money to pay for something, such as travel.
celebrate
To perform a social activity for a special occasion, like a 95th birthday.
predict
To say what will happen in the future.
describe
To tell someone about a job or what you do.
value
To appreciate or recognize the importance of someone's help.
electric car
A type of vehicle produced by the company Tesla.
direct bus
A bus used for reaching a destination quickly without changing routes.
failure
A lack of success, which one should not be afraid of and instead keep trying.
quantities
Large amounts of something, like plastic straws in the ocean.
errors
Mistakes or incorrect information found in an article or work.
measure
To find the size, amount, or distance of something, such as the distance from the Earth to the Sun.
in case
A phrase used to describe a precaution, such as breaking glass in the event of a fire.
available
To be free to do something or ready for use.
