Subject and Verb Agreement
A grammatical rule requiring that the subject and verb in a sentence match in number, meaning singular subjects take singular verbs and plural subjects take plural verbs.
Sentence Fragment
A group of words that is punctuated as a sentence but lacks a subject, a main verb, or a complete thought.
Fused Sentence
A specific type of run-on sentence that occurs when two independent clauses are joined together with no punctuation or conjunction between them.
Run-on Sentence
A grammatical error that occurs when two or more independent clauses are incorrectly joined without appropriate punctuation or connecting words.
