Efferent neuron

Neurons in the PNS that send signals from the CNS to the muscles and glands

Interneuron

Neurons in the CNS that regulate signals from the afferent and efferent neurons

Autonomic nervous system

Part of the PNS that controls the glands and internal organs

Sympathetic nervous system

Part of the autonomic nervous system. Responsible for fight or flight response

Parasympathetic nervous system

Part of the autonomic nervous system. Responsible for calming the body down

Skeletal nervous system

Part of the PNS that controls the body's muscles
