black spruce features?
- grey with white dot slightly rounded needles
- very short needles
- twigs are flat, brown, rough and slender with tiny hairs
- single line of white dots in the middle
- in between flat and round needles

red spruce features?
- branches droop
- back of needle has white dots spread all over it it looks like bacteria, but is more light green than white spruce
- shiny, bright yellow-green, blunt-pointed ends
- in between flat and round needles
- reddish bark

white spruce features?
- in between flat and round needles
- tip of branch reveals needles grow around twig
- two lines of white dots, differing from red spruce but they somewhat connect
- slightly darker needles than red spruce
- skinnier cones

jack pine features?
- bunches of 2 needles
- shorter than other pines
- seed cones look like chode
- spread apart in a Victoria secret V shape
- sometimes has white bs on it

red pine features?
- shiny, dark green flat needles with very finely toothed edge
- long sturdy needles that grow in pairs of 2
- significantly longer than jack pine needles
- twigs have reddish/brown tint

white pine features?
- bunches of 5!!!!!!!!! 5 LETTERS IN WHITE!!!!

eastern white cedar features?
- cedar is SCALYYY
- not really needles, differs from all of them
- not spruce

eastern hemlock features?
- similar to balsam fir, but has shorter needles
- flat needles
- very small cones (little bebes, new growth is green and they turn brown)
- has more white underneath than balsam fir , two white lines
- differs from spruces since it has flat needles, not round at all
