Population Density

The number of people living per unit of area, usually expressed as people per square kilometer or square mile.

Cultural Landscape

The visible features of an area of land as modified by human activity, including buildings, roads, and agricultural practices.

Urbanization

The increasing number of people that live in urban areas, resulting in the growth of cities.

Globalization

The process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or operate on an international scale.

Migration

The movement of people from one place to another, which can be voluntary or forced.

Sustainable Development

Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Demographic Transition Model

A model that describes the stages a country goes through as it transitions from high birth and death rates to lower birth and death rates as it develops.

Centrifugal Force

Forces that tend to pull people apart or create division within a state.

Centripetal Force

Forces that tend to unify people and enhance the stability of a state.

Political Ecology

The study of the relationships between political, economic, and social factors with environmental issues and changes.
