What is the linguistic meaning of 'Aqidah?
Comes from the Arabic root aqada meaning to tie firmly. Indicating that these beliefs are not based on guesswork or assumption but on clear firm conviction.
Why is studying 'Aqa'id essential?
It forms the foundation of a Muslim's faith. Just as a building cannot stand without a strong base our worship character and religious practice rely on having sound belief. This is why the early scholars of Islam placed creed before all other sciences.
What does 'Aqa'id define?
It defines who Allah is and what is befitting his majesty. Teaches what the Prophets came with and why they were sent. Clarifies belief in the angels, revealed books, Qadr, the unseen and the Hereafter. Protects a Muslim from confusion, doubts. deviant ideas and misleading interpretations.

Not merely to memorise concepts but to strengthen one's connection with Allah, remove doubts, increase conviction ,understand the foundations of the religion and learn how to respond to modern misconceptions and challenges.
Is it obligatory to learn 'Aqidah?
Yes it is fard (obligatory) to know the basic beliefs of Islam. Every Muslim must know the core matters of belief with certainty — who Allah is His attributes the status of the Prophets the reality of the Angels the Hereafter and so on.
