Legislation that prohibits discrimination based on race.
1974 Amendment to the Fair Housing Act
Added sex as a protected class.
1988 Amendment to the Fair Housing Act
Added familial status and handicap as protected classes.
Familial Status
Defined as one or more individuals who have not reached the age of 18 being domiciled with a parent or person seeking legal custody; includes a parent who is pregnant.
Handicap
A physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of a person's life activities; does NOT include drug addicts; DOES include alcoholics and persons with AIDS.

Refers to the fruits of the land which can be included or excluded in a conveyance.
