The halogens often reach with hydrogen.
When reacting with hydrogen, a compound is produced called a Hydrogen Halide.
Hydrogen halides are gases at room temperature and dissolve in water to produce acidic solutions.

Hydrogen + Chlorine —> Hydrogen Chloride
H2(g) + Cl₂(g) —-> 2HCl(g)
