Endocytosis
The movement of material into the cell using vesicles.
Exocytosis
The movement of material out of the cell using vesicles.
Cell Cycle
A repeated pattern of growth, DNA duplication, and cell division that occurs in eukaryotic cells.
Interphase
The first phase of the cell cycle, consisting of G1, S, and G2 phases, where the cell grows and prepares for division.
Mitosis
The second phase of the cell cycle where the cell's chromosomes are separated into two new nuclei.
Cytokinesis
The division of the cytoplasm into two individual cells.
Apoptosis
Programmed cell death, a process where lysosomes release enzymes that contribute to cell death.
Cancer
Uncontrolled cell division that occurs when cell cycle regulation breaks down, leading to tumor formation.
Benign Tumor
A cluster of abnormal cells that typically remain together and do not spread to other parts of the body.
Malignant Tumor
Cancer cells that break away from a tumor and spread to other body parts, leading to more tumors.
