What are the three types of bleeding?
Arterial (bright red, spurting), Venous (dark red, slower), Capillary (bright red droplets).
How should a tourniquet be applied?
At least 1 inch wide, placed 2-4 inches above the injury, and never covered or removed.
What are the steps for bleeding control?
1. Apply direct pressure, 2. Apply dressing, 3. Elevate the extremity, 4. Apply tourniquet if necessary.
What should you do for a sucking chest wound?
Cover all holes with an airtight seal and tape down all four sides.
What are the symptoms of a fracture?
Deformity, bruising, tenderness, swelling, and discoloration.
What is the treatment for a fracture?
Do not straighten, remove clothing and jewelry, splint above and below the injury, and check for pulse/sensation.
What should you do if there is an eye injury?
Always bandage both eyes and do not remove any impaled objects.
What are the signs of a severe spine/head injury?
Lack of feeling/control below the neck and fluid drainage or blood from the ear, nose, or mouth.
What is the treatment for a heat stroke?
Keep the patient calm, warm, and comfortable, and seek medical attention immediately.
What are the types of burns?
Thermal, radiation, electrical, and chemical.
What is the first step in treating burns?
Stop the burning process.
What are the symptoms of thermal/partial thickness burns?
Skin reddens, blisters, and is painful.
What should you do for thermal/full thickness burns?
Stop the burning process, do not remove clothing stuck to the burn, and cover with a sterile dressing.
What should you do for electrical burns?
Ensure power is off and look for entry and exit wounds.

A score of 70% (18 out of 25).
