SI Units
The International System of Units, a standardized system for measurements.
Electrical Force
The force exerted between objects with electric charge, which can be attractive or repulsive.
Inverse Square Law (Coulomb's Law)
A law stating that the force between two charges is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Charge Transfer
When electrical charge can be transferred resulting in an equal distribution of charge.
Quantized Charge
The principle that charge exists in discrete units, specifically multiples of the elementary charge.
Elementary Charge
The fundamental unit of electric charge carried by a single proton or electron.
Electric Potential (Voltage)
The electrical potential energy per unit charge at a specific point in an electric field.
Law of Conservation of Charge
The principle stating that the total electric charge in an isolated system remains constant.
Polarization
The process where a neutral object becomes polarized due to the presence of a nearby charge.
Induction
The redistribution of electrical charge in an object, caused by the influence of a nearby charged object, but without direct contact.
Conduction
The process of transferring electric charge between objects through direct contact.
