Long-term Causes
refer to underlying factors or conditions that develop over an extended period and ultimately contribute to significant historical events or changes. They often set the stage for the immediate causes.
Short-term Causes
the immadiate triggers that set events in motion
Colonialism
It occurs when one nation takes control of another for benefits such as resources. Often, they force their language and culture on the locals.
Miliatirism
domination of the military man over the civilian, an undue preponderance of military demands, an emphasis on military considerations
Deterrence
the action of discouraging an action or event through instilling doubt or fear of the consequences.
Nationalism
ideology based on the premise that the individual’s loyalty and devotion to the nation-state surpass other individual or group interests.
Imperialism
state policy, practice, or advocacy of extending power and dominion, especially by direct territorial acquisition or by gaining political and economic control of other areas
Industrialization
the process of converting to a socioeconomic order in which industry is dominant
civil war
is a war between organized groups within the same state or country
Guerrilla Warfare
type of warfare fought by irregulars in fast-moving, small-scale actions against stronger military

a set of beliefs or principles, especially one on which a political system, party, or organization is based
