Third Man
A deep fielding position behind the wicket on the off side.
Long Stop
A deep fielding position directly behind the wicketkeeper at the boundary.
Fine Leg
A fielding position on the leg side behind the wicket.
Wicketkeeper
The fielder positioned directly behind the batsman's stumps to catch balls and execute stumpings.
Slips
Fielding positions located behind the batsman on the off side for catching edges.
Point
A fielding position on the off side square with the batsman.
Gully
A fielding position on the off side between the Slips and Point.
Square Leg
A fielding position on the leg side square with the batsman.
Midwicket
A fielding position on the leg side between Mid On and Square Leg.
Cow Corner
A deep fielding position on the leg side boundary between Midwicket and Long On.
Cover
A fielding position on the off side between Point and Extra Cover.
Extra Cover
A fielding position on the off side between Mid Off and Cover.
Mid Off
A fielding position on the off side in front of the batsman, close to the bowler.
Mid On
A fielding position on the leg side in front of the batsman, close to the bowler.
Long Off
A deep fielding position on the off side near the boundary, straight down the ground.
Long On
A deep fielding position on the leg side near the boundary, straight down the ground.
Silly Mid Off
A very close fielding position near the batsman on the off side.
Silly Mid On
A very close fielding position near the batsman on the leg side.
Bowler
The player who delivers the ball to the striking batsman.
Non-striking Batsman
The batsman standing at the bowler's end of the pitch.
Leg Slip
A fielding position behind the wicket on the leg side, mirroring the off-side slip positions.
Backward Point
A fielding position on the off side, slightly behind the line of the stumps.
Short Leg
A very close fielding position on the leg side near the batsman's feet.
Fly Slip
A deeper version of the slip position on the off side.
