give some historical background to Guernsey's
France - After capturing normandy fgrom the english in 1204 the french attacke guernsey many times during the 100 year war, and relationships did not relax untill the papal bull of 1481 making the islands neutral for 200 years. The english wars with france resulted in more attacks on the island in the 17 century and until peace was reached with 1815.
England - Guernsey became linked to the crown with the nromal invasion of england in 1066 to which the island remained loyal for centuries to come. The reformation in the 16 century causes civil unrest between the loyalists of castel cornet and the parliamentarians of Guernsey, where the casteleeventually surrendered in 1651. The english wars made way for privateering which along with st peter port being an entrepot made the island very wealthy.
Germany - Guernsey had little itneraction with Germany up until the 20th century and the world wars, in which during the first world war 1 in 20 were killed and later in world war 2 the island was occupied by german forces
How has guernsey become more connected to teh rest of the world
The advent of teh internet and developments in communication has hugely connected the island with teh rest of the world. This has eben teh driving factor of Ste peter ports shift from a trade based economy to predominantley financial, with three fifths of islanders workin in tehfinance industry. THis has resulted in many new offices being built and much of the town buildings being replacd by these. There has been inwards migration of companioes and their experienced workers to teh island which has changed the island character. Alongside the finance industry many TNC's have opened shops on teh island taking away the islands character and contributring to st peter port becoming a clone town
how has continued change affected st peter port
During covid many businesses have left the high street leaving it barren with many local businesses being sold of in replacement of TNC's.
what is the island development and urban area plan st peter port
island development plan - this is a plan to conserve and regenerate parts of the island while maximising growth to st peter port itself- this will create and conserve more green space, imrpvoing guernsey's environment, while also regnerating araes of the town which have become derpvied and derelict in recent years.
outline guernsey population dynamic
until 2017 guernsey's population had bene mostly decreasing each year by up to almost 0.6% however into 2018 it began rising each year up to approximatley 1 per cent

The film will have made Guernsey a media place for the millions of viewers of teh film that are not locals, hjowever as they would find out if they were to visit the island, this sense of place is far from accurate even for the time that it is portraying in the film.
