A social role, often directed at females

A social role, often directed at males

Gender Schema

knowing what a Boy or a Girl is (age 2-3)

Gender Identity

What gender characteristics they perceive in themselves. How gender typical they feel they are for their culture and how content they feel about it.

Gender-Role Standards

Behaviors, values, or motives that society considers more appropriate for members of one specific sex instead of another.

Androgynous

Displaying a number of both masculine and feminine characteristics.

Gender Concept

Knowing I am a Boy or a Girl (age 2-3)

Gender Segregation

spending time with same-sex peers, gender-typed toys/activities
