The US lost interest in the Greco Roman classical style adopting the gothic revival style from England
● The first example of gothic revival appeared in Baltimore in 1832 by Alexander Jackson Javis , and the style quickly spread

●For decorative purpose rather than the original function
●Early phase preferred by upper classes for country estates while the later phase was popular to the public buildings
