Anabolic (building) response to hyperglycemia

- liver: stimulates glycogen synthesis, glycolysis, and fatty acid synthesis

- muscle: stimulates glycogen synthesis

- adipose: stimulates lipoprotein lipase resulting in uptake of fatty acids from lipoprotein (chylomicrons and VLDL)
