The Great Depression occurred during the 1930s.

It was caused by a stock market crash in 1929, resulting in unemployment, poverty and economic collapse.

Lack of military enforcement - they didn’t have their own military and depended on member states to provide troops and resources

Absence of key nations -  major world powers (US) never joined the league and other important nations such as Germany and Soviet Union were excluded, which weakened the leagues authority

  • It failed to prevent WW2 since - Hitler thought no one would stop him, so he kept taking more land. - It allowed Nazi Germany to grow stronger and more dangerous.
