Classification of occupancy including Residential, Education & Recreation, Institutional, Business & Mercantile, Industrial, Storage or Hazardous, and Assembly.
R1 Zoning
A low-density residential zone characterized by single-family and single-detached dwellings.
R2 Zoning
A medium-density residential zone characterized by low-rise single-attached, duplex, or multi-level buildings for use as multiple family dwellings.
R3 Zoning
A high-density residential zone characterized by low-rise or medium-rise buildings for use as multiple family dwellings, including low-rise or medium-rise condominium buildings.
R4 Zoning
Medium to high-density residential zone characterized by low-rise townhouses or buildings for use as multiple family dwellings on an individual lot.
R5 Zoning
Very high-density residential zone characterized by medium-rise to high-rise condominiums.
C1 Zoning
Light Commercial, neighborhood to community in scale, low-rise buildings, low-intensity trade/activity.
C2 Zoning
Medium Commercial, city or municipal in scale, medium-rise buildings, medium to high-intensity trade.
C3 Zoning
Metropolitan Commercial, metropolitan in scale, medium to high-rise buildings, very high intensity trade.
GI Zoning
General Institutional, community to national level of institutional use, low-rise to high-rise; includes Education/Recreation and Medical/Government.
I-1 Zoning
Light industrial use, low-rise, low-intensity manufacturing.
I-2 Zoning
Medium industrial use, low-rise, medium-intensity manufacturing.
UTS Zoning
Utilities, Transportation, Services; utilitarian, functional uses; low-rise to medium rise; low to high-intensity community support.
PRE Zoning
Parks, Recreational, Entertainment; low-rise to medium rise; low to medium intensity recreational functions related to educational uses.
CUL Zoning
Cultural zone, community to national level of use or occupancy, low to medium rise.
A Zoning
Agricultural, low to medium rise, low to high intensity agricultural activity.
AI Zoning
Agroindustrial, low rise, low to high intensity agroindustrial activity.
PUD Zoning
Planned Unit Development, land development or redevelopment schemes with a CDMP (Comprehensive Development Masterplan).
Abutment
An abutment of up to 3.20 meters from established grade level that may be permitted but solely for the purpose of supporting a carport roof in R-1 zones.
Building Height Limit (BHL)
The maximum height to be allowed for buildings/structures based on their proposed use or occupancy, measured from the established grade line to the topmost portion of the building/structure.
Area of the Building Footprint (AMBF)
The area of the building footprint.

The surface grade after construction i.e. sidewalk surface.
natural grade
The surface of the ground in its natural state.
