Cells located between seminiferous tubules that primarily secrete testosterone.
Epididymis
Long, coiled duct atop each testis that stores and matures sperm cells before ejaculation.
Vas deferens
Muscular tube that transports sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct.
Seminal vesicles
Paired glands that secrete a thick, alkaline, fructose-rich fluid contributing to semen volume.
Prostate gland
Single gland surrounding the urethra that releases a milky fluid to nourish and protect sperm.
Bulbourethral (Cowper’s) glands
Small glands that release a clear, lubricating pre-ejaculatory fluid into the urethra.
Semen
Mixture of sperm and secretions from seminal vesicles, prostate, and bulbourethral glands.
Scrotum
Pouch of skin and muscle that holds the testes and regulates their temperature for optimal sperm production.
Urethra (male)
Single duct that conveys urine from the bladder and semen from the reproductive tract to the exterior.
