Alloy
A mixture of metals or a mixture of a metal and another element.
High Carbon Steel
Steel that contains 0.25% to 15% carbon; harder than lower carbon steels but more brittle.
Stainless Steel
Steel alloy containing at least 70% iron and 10% nickel, known for its resistance to rust and used in kitchen equipment.
Malleable
Ability of a material to be shaped or formed without breaking.
Cast Iron
Iron alloy that is easy to cast into exact shapes, often used for engine blocks and manhole covers.
Brittle
A property of material that causes it to shatter when hit instead of bending.
Construction Materials
Materials like steel and cast iron used in building modern structures.
Cutlery
Utensils used for cutting, which can be made from stainless steel due to its strength and resistance to rust.
