Kick Off
Each team on it’s own half, kick back to teammates. Occurs at the start of the game, after half time, and after each goal scored.
Direct Free Kick
A shot at goal because of a major foul; kicking, striking, tripping, holding, pushing, charging, jumping at the opponent, charging from behind, and unsportsmanlike conduct.
Indirect Free Kick
The kick must be touched by another player before a goal can be scored when a minor foul occurs; offsides, obstruction, goalie taking too many steps.
Offside
Foul: When the ball is passed to an offensive player and the offensive player is past the defender, closet to the goal.
Drop Ball
After injury, ball is dropped between 2 players.
Penalty Kick
A penalty kick is awarded when a major foul occurs inside the penalty area.
Corner Kick
When the ball goes over the end line and the Defending team was the last to touch the ball. 'D' must be 10 yards away, 'O' can be close.
Goal Kick
A goal kick is awarded when the attacking team last touches the ball before it goes over the goal line, resulting in a kick from within the goal area on the side the ball went out by the defending team. Kicked by the goalkeeper or another player.
Throw-In
Ball goes out of play over the sidelines. Both feet must be in contact with the ground throughout the throw and follow-through. Both hands behind the ball and remain in contact throughout the throw. Ball must start behind the head and be released above forehead..
A goal cannot be scored from a throw-in.
Handball
When the soccer ball touches any part of the arm and/or hand.
