Motion
A body is said to be in motion if it changes its position with time.
Distance
Total path length covered by an object.
Displacement
The shortest distance between the initial and final positions.
Uniform Motion
Equal distances in equal intervals of time.
Non-uniform Motion
Unequal distances in equal intervals of time.
Speed
Distance travelled per unit time, calculated as Speed = Distance / Time.
Velocity
Displacement per unit time, calculated as Velocity = Displacement / Time.
Acceleration
Rate of change of velocity, calculated as Acceleration = (Final Velocity - Initial Velocity) / Time.
Scalar Quantity
A quantity that has only magnitude, such as distance and speed.
Vector Quantity
A quantity that has both magnitude and direction, such as displacement and velocity.
Zero Acceleration
Occurs in uniform motion where there is no change in velocity.
Distance-Time Graph
A graph that shows a straight line for uniform motion.
Velocity-Time Graph
A graph where the area under the graph gives displacement.
Conversion Factor from km/h to m/s
Multiply km/h by 5/18 to convert to m/s.
