Internal Rhyme

Words within the same line.

Rhyme

The end words in lines next to or near each other rhyme.

assonance

The repetition of the same vowel sounds in two or more words next to or near each other.

consonance

The repetition of same consonant sounds next to or near each other.

Ballad

A form of verse, often. narrative set to music

Concrete

A poem which is written in the shape of the object the poem is about

Free verse

open form of poetry which has no consistency meter patterns, rhyme, or any other musical pattern.

Haiku

A Japanese poem of unrhymed verses having 3 lines and a pattern 5-7-5 syllables and it is about nature

Limerick

short humorous nonsense poem: a stanza of 5 lines with the 1st, 2nd, and 5th lines rhyming.

oxymoron

A figure of speech with a pair of words that are the opposite meaning

Lyric

A poem, or an ode that expresses the thoughts and feelings of the poet.

Narrative

A form of poetry which tells a story
