Physicalogical Population Density
Calculated by dividing population by the amount of arable land
Agriculture Population Density
Compares the number of farmers to the area of arable land
Overpopulation
Having more people a region can support without damaging the environment
Population Pyramid
This tool is based only on age and gender data. And can provide info on birth rates, death rates , how long people live on average in economic development. And can also give evidence of past events such as environmental hazards, wars, political changes and epidemics
Cohorts
in a population period vertical axis shows age groups.
Sex Ratio
Ratio between the number of males and the number of females

Demographic Balancing Equation
To describe the future of populations of a region of any scale (Future population = current population + # of births - # of deaths) (Immigrants - Emigrants)
Crude Birth Rate (CBR)
Is the number of a live births per year for each 1000 people
Total Fertility Rate (TFR)
The average number of children who would be born per woman in a country

The percentage at which a country’s population is growing or declining, without the impact of migration
Population Doubling Time
Can be estimated using an equation known as the Rule of 70
(Assuming the growth rate remains steady, the approximate doubling time in years will be 70 divided by the growth rate per year)
