V–P–E Structure

Common Finnish phrases used to express 'In my opinion' or 'I think.'
Luullakseni
A Finnish term meaning 'I suppose' or 'I think that' (equivalent to 'Luulen, ett').

V–P1–P2–E Structure
An expanded opinion structure using a Claim (Vite), two justifications (Perustelu 1 and 2), and an Example (Esimerkki).
Mynt (M)
A short acknowledgment of the opposing side's point in an argument structure (e.g., 'On totta, ett…').
Vastaperustelu (VP)
One's own reason that limits or refutes the point acknowledged in the 'Mynt' phase.
Ehto (E)
The condition in the V–E–S–E structure representing what must happen or be realized.
Seuraus (S)
The consequence or result that occurs if a specific condition (Ehto) is met.
Faktatieto (Argument type)
An argument based on factual information, such as smoking causing diseases.
Auktoriteetti (Argument type)
Using an expert, research, or a notable person (e.g., Tarja Halonen) to support an argument.
Asian yleisyys (Argument type)
Basing an argument on public opinion or common knowledge (e.g., 'Everyone considers Finland a high-standard country').
Mielihyv (Argument type)
An argument based on positive feelings or pleasant experiences.
Ajankohtaisuus ja uutuus (Argument type)
An argument emphasizing that something is current or offers new, unprecedented experiences.
