Dred Scott decision

Plessy v Ferguson

Ku Klux Klan
A white supremacist organization that emerged in the late 19th century and continues to promote racism and violence against African Americans.
Racial peace
The absence of conflict and tension between different racial groups, often achieved through justice, goodwill, and brotherhood.
Urban migration
The movement of African Americans from rural areas to urban centers, seeking better economic opportunities and a new sense of self-respect and dignity.
Revolutionary change
A significant and transformative shift in the way African Americans perceive themselves and their determination to fight for justice and equality.
Oppressed peoples
Individuals and groups who experience systematic oppression and discrimination, often leading to a desire for freedom and liberation.
