Cold War
A period of political tension and military rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union after World War II.
Soviet Union
A socialist state in Eurasia that existed from 1922 to 1991, characterized by a one-party state led by the Communist Party.
Joseph Stalin
Leader of the Soviet Union from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953, known for his totalitarian regime and the Great Purge.
Yalta Conference
A meeting of the heads of government of the U.S., the U.K., and the Soviet Union held in February 1945, aimed at discussing post-war reorganization.
Containment Policy
