The three meninges of the brain are -

Dura Mater(Outer), Arachnoid Mater(Middle) and Pia Mater(Inner)

The brain is divided into -

Forebrain, Midbrain and Hindbrain

Forebrain consists of -

Cerebrum, Hypothalamus, Thalamus and Olfactory Lobes

Hindbrain consists of -

Pons, Cerebellum and Medulla Oblangata

Grey matter is made up of -

Non-myelinated cell bodies, dendrons and dendrites

White matter is made up of -

Myelinated Axons

Peripheral Nervous System consists of -

Autonomic Nervous System and Voluntary/Somantic Nervous System

The peripheral Nervous System has __________ nerves -

Spinal Nerves(31 Pairs), Cranial Nerves(12 Pairs) and Visceral Nerves

Spinal Nerves -

Arise from the spinal cord, spread along most of its length and carries sensory and motor neurons

Cranial Nerves -

Arise from the brain, spread throughout the head and consist of sensory and motor neurons

Visceral Nerves -

Arise from the spinal cord and are connected to internal organs of the body. Consist of sensory and motor neurons

The Autonomous Nervous System -

Control involuntary actions. Also control Sympathetic(Fight or Flight) and Parasympathetic(Calming) Nervous Systems

The parts of a neuron are -

Cell body, Dendrites and Axon

The three types of neuron are -

Sensory Neuron, Motor Neuron and Relay/association/interneurons

The Reflex Arc -

Stimulus->Receptor Organ->Sensory Neuron->Spinal Cord->Motor Neuron->Muscle Action->Response

Transmission of Impulse -

Stimulus->Sense Organ->Receptor->Brain/Spinal Cord(Central Nervous System)->Effector(Muscles)->Target Organ

CNS Stands for -

Central Nervous System

Nerves are -

Nerve fibres grouped together, which are cell axons grouped together
